NAB Foundation Community Grants fund local projects that help communities prepare for natural disasters, support long-term recovery and build resilience against future disasters. The Penguin Foundation has recently received a generous NAB Foundation Community Grant for $34,990 for Future-proofing Little Penguins living on Phillip Island (Millowl) from bushfire.  

As part of its ongoing commitment to support conservation and environmental initiatives, Penguin Random House ANZ will provide funding to the Penguin Foundation.

‘At PRH, we have a strong focus on sustainability and green initiatives so we feel this partnership was a perfect fit for us,’ says Julie Burland, CEO of PRH ANZ. ‘The work the Foundation does to look after the 40,000 Little Penguins is incredible and we are very proud to be a part of it. And of course, we just happen to be particularly fond of Penguins.’
The Penguin Foundation and Phillip Island Nature Parks teams are looking forward to working with Penguin Random House now and into the future and we are most appreciative of the enthusiasm and support shown by PRH.

In 2021, the QBE Foundation local grants program supported 12 charities with grants of $25,000. Grants focused on three key areas of need that align with QBE’s approach to working in the community, with a key focus being climate action.

The Penguin Foundation was fortunate to be a recipient of one of these grants. As many natural areas around the world start to show the impacts of climate change, the Penguin Foundation works to protect Phillip Island’s (Millowl) natural environment and native wildlife – including Little Penguins.
