In support of the annual Threatened Species Day on September 7, we are pleased to share the latest Threatened Species Report 2023 from Phillip Island Nature Parks. Phillip Island (Millowl) is a rich haven for threatened species and the Penguin Foundation is proud to support a variety of projects in protection and support of threatened animals and at risk plants species. This outstanding report, proudly produced by Jessica McKelson and her dedicated team, outlines the collaborative efforts made towards strengthening threatened flora and fauna species. The long-term support from funders and collaborators remains critical to the success of each program and strong partnerships have been developed with government agencies and NGO’s and the The Penguin Foundation to create strong outcomes.

One core role of Phillip Island Nature Parks is to research, monitor and implement strategies that will allow species at risk to recover. In the past year, the Conservation and Community Impact teams have continued to build on our previous successes and strengthen the threatened species programs for our island haven. Combining our expertise with that of our partners allows us to monitor and better understand the behaviour of species requiring our assistance so we can take decisive steps toward their recovery.
