The Penguin Foundation is extremely fortunate to receive generous donations from Community Fundraisers. On Sunday 5 December, Richard Large, organised a 65km or 80km ride called the “Gippsland Ouest Classique” with 22 very enthusiastic cyclists. Riders traversed the quiet country roads of West Gippsland in near perfect conditions and finished with a well-earned lunch at the Loch Village Foodstore and Loch Brewery and Distillery. It was certainly an effort for Richard and his dedicated team of cyclists to celebrate as they raced past their fundraising target of $2500, to raise over $11,740 for the Penguin Foundation! Richard’s motivation to raise funds to support wildlife on Phillip Island (Millowl), is to honour the 10th anniversary of the passing of his friend, Michael Gatehouse, who was Chairman of the Penguin Foundation in 2010.

We are so very grateful to Richard and all who made this possible. These funds will have a meaningful impact on the conservation work of the Penguin Foundation and the Phillip Island Nature Parks team into 2022 and beyond.

If you would like to host a fundraising event to raise funds for the Foundation, we'd love to hear from you! Reach us at info@penguinfoundation.org.au.
