Vote for us to win!
The Penguin Foundation and Phillip Island Nature Parks has been shortlisted to receive a grant from the Volunteering Innovation Fund! The Volunteering Innovation Fund is part of the Victorian Government’s Victoria’s Great Outdoors program, which seeks to get more Victorians, from all walks of life outdoors enjoying nature. The Fund will award $2million to the most innovative and interesting projects that inspire volunteering in nature, create change and leave a legacy.
Our project, ‘Building a Brighter Future’ will connect young volunteers (under 18 years) with the leading conservation work undertaken at the Nature Parks. Through volunteering, youth will be able to build connections with the iconic threatened species and the amazing environment we are striving to conserve.
Building a Brighter Future will help to ensure the continuation of the Nature Parks’ successful volunteer programs by connecting with young people who will be at the core of our volunteer activities for years to come, creating and maintaining an island haven for wildlife.
Online voting closes at 5pm on Thursday 12 August 2021
