Nesting shorebird breeding report
The Penguin Foundation and donors contribute to vital rehabilitation and research efforts of shorebirds of Milawul. The Phillip Island Nature Parks conservation team has recently released its Nesting Shorebirds Breeding Report, outlining the results of the 2024/25 nesting shorebird breeding season on Phillip Island (Milawul).
Congratulations to 'team hoodie', including staff, volunteers, interns, and all the external contributors, for all the work they have put into the program.
This was another good season with 13 hooded plover chicks fledged from 17 pairs, including three chicks from two successful second clutches!
It won't be long until we start finding scrapes and nests and the 2025/26 season begins.
