Minibeasts of Phillip Island Millowl

Local writer, Christine Grayden, has been selling her two children’s books through Turn the Page bookshop in Cowes, Phillip Island, over the last 18 months. Part of the profits from each book go to charity such as the Penguin Foundation.

Christine Grayden has donated $200.00 to the Phillip Island Penguin Foundation from sales of her non-fiction book, ‘Minibeasts of Phillip Island Millowl. Land insects, spiders, molluscs and crustaceans’. Christine handed over the ‘cheque’ to Penguin Foundation Board Member, Jane Jobe, at Turn the Page bookshop.

In thanking Christine, Jane said she was "delighted that so many people had purchased Christine’s book, which was produced with the help of local photographers contributing over 100 photos of our island’s minibeasts, and printed locally at Gone Printin’ on 100% recycled paper. An all-round win for the environment!"

Christine’s other children’s book, ‘The Lost Blanket’, which she also illustrated, has so far raised $1000 in sales and donations for UNICEF, and is still also available at Turn the Page.

Christine would like to thank Brendan and Kylie of Turn the Page for selling her books, making her fundraising possible, and for also supporting other local writers.
